Watched Jean Cocteau’s Orpheus at the Brattle theatre. It was quite an amazing movie. I was completely mesmerized, espeically towards the end. Worth your time, I think.

Another movie I watched today was Umberto D. It’s just about the complete opposite of the nearly fantasy-like Orpheus for its neo-realism. It was a.. I don’t know how to describe it. It is a beautiful work. You should watch this as well. 🙂 Actually, if you didn’t have time for two movies at the moment, you should watch this first.

“It is the unique power of the cinema to allow a great many people to dream the same dream together and to present illusion to us as if it were strict reality. It is, in short, an admirable vehicle for poetry.” – Jean Cocteau
