I am listening to Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 4, and not finding it to be very remarkable music – notwithstanding the exceeding remarkableness of this particular recording (with Mravinsky conducting the Leningrad Philharmonic). Well, the fourth movement is simply hair raising.. adrenaline rush! Wonder what it must have been like to be part of this performance. But so much for this one brilliant movement. (Though it is quite super brilliant. Damn. Holy shit.. It’s so fast, it’s like Prokofiev 2nd movement!)
